COURSE
INFORMATION In 2017, ESOR is continuing to
organise foundation courses to prepare/assist those
entering examinations for the European Diploma in
Radiology (EDiR). These courses may also be attended by
board-certified radiologists, wishing to update their
knowledge in a specific area. A series of nine courses
is organised at the ESR Learning Centre in
Vienna/Austria, each one dealing with a specific
organ/system-oriented theme.
The teaching
concept will include 20-minute lectures, immediately
followed by 40-minute case-based reviews on six topics.
The teaching/learning objectives for each of the topics
will be strictly adhered to the European Training
Curriculum. A self-assessment test including
multiple-choice questions for each of the topics will
round-off the exercise.
25 participants will be
targeted per course. Registration will be possible for
each single, one-day course, or for several courses of
the series.
Each of the ESOR Courses for EDiR
has been accredited by the European Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) with 6
European CME credits as well as with a maximum of 8 DFP
(Diplom-Fortbildungs-Programm der Österreichischen
Akademie der Ärzte) credits by the Österreichische
Ärztekammer (Austrian Medical Chamber).

European
Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) The
European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) is
an international diploma issued and certified by the
European Board of Radiology (EBR). Success in the EDiR
examination certifies a standard of radiological
knowledge deemed appropriate for independent practice in
general radiology by the European Society of Radiology.
The knowledge base for the examination is based on the
European Training Curriculum for Radiology (ETCR).
Board-certified radiologists and fifth-year residents
are eligible to take the examination. It also provides
the individual radiologist with an objective mechanism
for self-evaluation and career development. The EDiR, as
international certificate of excellence, is
particularly important for radiologists at the start of
their careers, and will surely help them focus on their
professional development and to improve their job
opportunities in the future.
The EDiR
certificate is endorsed by the ESR and the UEMS. CESMA
appraised EDiR during the ECR 2015. For more information
regarding the structure of the diploma, how to qualify
and future examination dates please, visit the EBR website. |
