ESR Annual Leadership Meeting 2019

Dear friends,

I am happy to report that we had an outstanding Annual Leadership Meeting which took place last week in my hometown of Genoa.
The vibrant discussions held on a variety of issues concerning our Institutional Member Societies and our community allowed us to feel the pulse of European radiology and shed light on important topics for the future of medical imaging on the continent. I am especially grateful for the participation of the patient groups’ representatives whose unique perspective and input broadened our understanding of many significant aspects of radiology and healthcare delivery.

ESR looks back on successful International Day of Radiology 2019

The International Day of Radiology (IDoR) was celebrated for the eighth time on November 8, this year focusing on sports imaging, and joined by individual supporters and more than 170 radiology-related professional societies from all over the world.

The new IDoR book, ‘Imaging of MOTION & PERFORMANCE. Stress & Strain’, which was produced in cooperation with the ESSR, is available on the website as a downloadable PDF. In addition, we have created a dedicated sports imaging microsite, which uses examples of top global athletes to show the general public how radiology is used in the diagnosis and management of sports injuries. Furthermore, 40 interviews with sports imaging experts from different countries, conducted by the ESR, have been published on the IDoR webpage.
