Incoming Editor-in-Chief of European Radiology

Prof. Yves Menu (Paris/FR) has been appointed as incoming Editor-in-Chief of the ESR's flagship journal European Radiology. He will take over the position from Prof. Maximilian Reiser (Munich/DE) starting from January 2018. Read more here.

ECR 2018 Abstract Submission

The ECR 2018 Abstract Submission for Scientific Papers, Electronic Posters (EPOS) and Clinical Trials in Radiology is now open and will be possible until October 10. Submit your abstract and be part of Europe’s most prestigious imaging meeting!

ECR 2018 Invest in the Youth and Student Abstract Submission

The ESR is pleased to announce that 1,000 young colleagues in training are given the opportunity to register for free for ECR 2018 and get up to four nights of accommodation in Vienna. ECR 2018 Shape your Skills

This new support programme of the ESR offers free registration for ECR 2018 and two nights of accommodation to 500 radiographers at the beginning of their career. Application is open until October 10.

Insights into Imaging is the ESR's gold open access journal dedicated to educational and best-practice articles (reviews and pictorial reviews), original articles on professional issues (like management and audit), as well as statements from leading European radiological societies.

ESR and IAEA sponsor participants for ESOR course on hybrid imaging in oncology

As part of the practical arrangement agreed between the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), 13 participants sponsored by the ESR and IAEA will participate in the ESOR-ESHI Asklepios Course ‘Introduction to Hybrid Imaging in Oncology', from August 31-September 1 in Vienna, Austria. MEDIRAD - Work Package 2 focusing on dose evaluation and optimisation in medical imaging

The Horizon 2020 MEDIRAD project on implications of medical low dose radiation exposure coordinated by EIBIR was launched in June 2017 to enhance the scientific bases and practice of radiation protection in the medical field. MEDIRAD Work Package 2 aims at developing novel methodologies to reduce patient and staff radiation dose and potential radiation-related risks of cancer and non-cancer outcomes from chest imaging while maintaining or improving diagnostic information from existing and emerging techniques. Digital Imaging Adoption Model (DIAM)

DIAM is a project for assessing IT systems in radiology departments developed by the ESR and HIMSS. With IBM Watson, the first company has signed a partnership agreement to deliver DIAM-related services in the UK. Healthcare organisations can receive their DIAM Score and Gap Report (free of charge in Europe) after making the DIAM assessment. Collaborate with us and benefit from the project’s unique advantages.
