Double reading in diagnostic radiology
The purpose of this study was to perform a systematic review on the value of double reading in diagnostic radiology. The review was performed to find studies calculating the rate of misses and overcalls with the aim of establishing the added value of double reading by human observers. Augmented reality for interventional oncology
The aim of this study was to assess the feasibility of a novel system that uses augmented reality to guide interventional oncology procedures. The experiments have shown that extremely high targeting accuracy was achieved in all cases, leading to conclusion that augmented reality can assist with needle guidance with great target accuracy for interventional. The future of radiology: adding value to clinical care
The practice of radiology needs to change for three reasons: subjective decisions about tests are a major contributor to the overuse of services, images are often inconsistently obtained and analysed, and radiology reports often include vague descriptions. To find out more, click here. (Lancet)

Long-term outcomes of clinical complete responders after neoadjuvant treatment for rectal cancer
The strategy of watch and wait (W&W) in patients with rectal cancer who achieve a complete clinical response (cCR) after neoadjuvant therapy is new and offers an opportunity for patients to avoid major resection surgery. The International Watch & Wait Database (IWWD) aims to describe the outcome of the W&W strategy in a large-scale registry of pooled individual patient data. This study reports the results of a descriptive analysis after inclusion of more than 1000 patients in the registry. Click here to find out more. (Lancet)

Active Surveillance for Localized Renal Masses
Since active surveillance (AS) has gained acceptance as a management strategy for localized renal masses, the aim of this study was to review our large single-center experience with AS by performing a subset analysis for patients with ≥5-yr follow-up without delayed intervention (DI). Chest X-Ray After Ultrasound-Guided Central Venous Catheter Insertion
A routine chest radiograph (CXR) is recommended as a screening test after central venous catheter (CVC) insertion. The goal of this study was to assess the value of a routine postprocedural CXR in the era of ultrasound-guided CVC insertion. This population-based retrospective cohort study was performed to review the records of all adult patients who had a CVC inserted in the operating room in a tertiary institution between July 1, 2008, and December 31, 2015.
