Ethics and practice for Artificial Intelligence

This important statement on ethics of Artificial Intelligence was prepared by well-established European and North American societies, including the ESR. An ethical framework is fundamental to make good use of the amazing capabilities of AI to ensure equal respect to human rights and liberties. (Insights Imaging)

The reproducibility of radiomic features in clinical decision making

Dr. Richard Do, author of “Radiomic feature reproducibility in contrast-enhanced CT of the pancreas is affected by variabilities in scan parameters and manual segmentation”, which was recently published in European Radiology, discussed his article on measuring the reproducibility of radiomic features in pancreatic parenchyma and ducta adenocarcinomas in patients who underwent CECT scans.

AI systems changing healthcare

The ESR AI blog spoke to Digital Health global marketing team leader Jörg Aumüller about the growth of medical data, how companies are staying ahead to meet legal, ethical, and regulatory challenges, AI changing professional roles, and much more.

Machine learning in pancreatic cancer: How far can we go?

Radiomic features derived from diffusion-weighted MRI of whole-tumor pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma are analyzed in this article by employing supervised machine learning in an attempt to predict overall survival and tumor subtype. (Eur Radiol Exp)

Pulmonary illness with imaging manifestations in E-cigarettes smokers

The first well-documented series of patients with pulmonary illness due to E-cigarette use is presented in this article. Imaging manifestations include pulmonary infiltrates and ground-glass opacities in both lungs, sometimes with subpleural sparing. (N Engl J Med)
