As the year is coming to a close, it is time to reflect on what the ESR has achieved and what is still ahead of us for the remainder of our working year until ECR. 2018 has been a year of records both for our society and our congress.

European Society of Radiology looks back on successful International Day of Radiology 2018

The International Day of Radiology (IDOR) was celebrated for the seventh time on November 8, this year focusing on cardiac imaging, and was joined by individual supporters and more than 170 radiology-related professional societies all around the world.

The new IDOR book ‘The HEART revealed. Radiology in the diagnosis and management of cardiac conditions’ is available on the website as downloadable pdf. Under the editorial leadership of Professor Jens Bremerich, Switzerland, and Dr. Rodrigo Salgado, Belgium, 41 authors from all over the world contributed to the book. In addition, 43 interviews with cardiac imaging experts from different countries, conducted by the ESR, have been published on the IDoR webpage.

In Memoriam Professor Michel Claudon

The ESR Board of Directors and the entire ESR staff are deeply saddened following the news of Professor Michel Claudon's passing. He was a remarkable and highly-accomplished member of our society and he will be dearly missed by all of us. We also extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends at this time.


European Radiology Experimental

The European Society of Radiology is delighted to announce that its youngest journal, European Radiology Experimental, is now indexed on PubMed Central!


New ESR Associate Institutional Member Society

We warmly welcome the Oman Radiology and Molecular Imaging Society (ORMIS) as our newest Associate Institutional Member Society. The ESR now counts a total of 111 member societies from around the world!

Opinion survey on AI in radiology

The European Network for the Assessment of Imaging in Medicine (EuroAIM), an initiative of the European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research (EIBIR), invites European radiologists to participate in an opinion survey on AI in radiology.

The deadline has been extended to December 8, 2018. Results will be presented at ECR 2019!

The ESR welcomes continued investments in EU health policies

The ESR welcomes continued investments in EU health policies as part of the next EU budget and the launch of new initiatives to enhance digitalisation of healthcare services across Europe. The ESR will continue to collaborate with the EU institutions and health organisations to shape and implement new initiatives in the field of health.

Bracco Fellowships 2019

The ESOR is happy to announce that the second year of applications for the Bracco Fellowships has closed with a significant increase in number! For 2019 the programme was open also to ESR Corresponding members.

30 residents and young radiologists from 20 different countries will be completing their training between January and June 2019.
