International Day of Radiology 2018

The International Day of Radiology (IDoR) will be celebrated for the seventh time on November 8, this year focusing on cardiac imaging. To underline the significance of cardiac imaging in various regions of the world and to show its current place in today’s medical healthcare spectrum, the ESR has conducted numerous interviews with experts throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia, as well as with individuals from Canada, South Africa and Egypt.

The stunning IDoR 2018 poster can be downloaded on the IDoR website; this year it is available in 30 languages!

To keep up to date with the latest announcements about the IDoR, visit the International Day of Radiology Facebook page or the IDoR website idor2018.com.

In memoriam

The ESR Board of Directors and the ESR Staff are deeply saddened by the loss of two renowned personalities in radiology.

Prof. Ian Isherwood, former president of the ESR’s forerunner, the European Association of Radiology (EAR), and Prof. Alexander F. Margulis, a long-standing ECR Honorary Member, both passed away earlier this month.
They will be fondly remembered for their contributions to radiology and sorely missed as close friends of the ESR.

RTF survey report on workplace satisfaction

Interested in what radiology residents across Europe have to say regarding their workplace, work mobility, stress levels and ESR Education? The ESR Radiology Trainees Forum (RTF) conducted a survey asking all these questions. The survey report has recently been published in Insights into Imaging, find out more from the ESR Statement by clicking here!

The ESR Audit Tool (Esperanto)

Following the publication of the Clinical Audit Tool booklet (Esperanto) in 2017, the ESR Audit and Standards Subcommittee produced a paper with the aim to improve patient care, experience and outcome by promoting clinical audit as a powerful tool in healthcare services. To find out more about this project click here.

The ESR warmly welcomes two new member societies, the Mauritanian Society of Radiology (SMARIM) and the Paraguayan Society of Radiology (SPRI), as its newest Associate Institutional Member Societies. We are happy to count a total of 110 member societies from around the globe!
